Today we are focusing on the hammerhead shark!
The hammerhead shark is a wonderful show of how biodiverse and strange sharks can be, and the many niches they fall into. Hammerhead sharks, known by the scientific family name Sphyrnidae. Within the Sphyrnidae family hammerhead sharks spread into many species.
Hammerhead sharks are found worldwide in warmer waters, along coastlines and continental shelves. They have a tendency to swim in school during the day and hunting alone at night.
Hammerheads are well known for how well their vision is with eyes placed on both ends of the hammer like shape making up their head, and the strange placement makes so that hammer head sharks have a 360 degree view around them.
